- Fields of application

These are central fields of application
for our nature-inspired technologies:

Sediment circularity: soil production
Dredged sediment dewatering in ponds and its transition into soil.
Underwater sediment deposits in dredging projects
We can increase the storage capacity of a deposit by enhancing sediment dewatering and compaction.
Land reclamation projects, with or without capping
Our technologies have been proven to deliver strengths in the range of 10-15 kPa for thin layers of 1 to 1.5 m by either enabling evaporation or combining several of our natural treatments (e.g. worms and plants).
Sediment management in ports
Plume dispersion and turbidity control with local algae or natural flocculants, sediment conditioning and recirculation enhanced by bacterial activity (bacteria may prevent sediment from flocculating and settling) and using it to block the entrance of further fines into the port are some of the possibilities in ports.
Tailings mine closure
Mines has the obligation to close former tailings ponds with certain environmental and geotechnical standards. We can achieve both with our nature-inspired solutions.
