We target engineering or restoration contexts where
fine sediments are of relevance in fields such as
lagooning or dewatering fields, mine tailings, sediment
circularity, underwater sediment deposits in dredging
projects, land reclamation projects.

A solution for the long dewatering times of fine sediment mixtures: dredged sediment, mine tailings, waste water treatment sludge.
Our methods can lead to twice to fifty times faster dewatering (depending on the targeted solid contents and sediment characteristics), and works for fine sediment deposits up to 2-3 m. We use natural dewatering agents (worms and plants) endemic to your system to speed up dewatering without utilizing polluting heavy machinery or chemicals.
A solution to improve water recuperation from fine sediment mixtures, as well as to increase the amount of sediment that we are able to store in a certain compartment.
Our methods can lead to 2 to 10% larger solid contents (e.g. from 50% to 52 to 60% solid contents) and the equivalent water extrusion, or to the associated 10 to 100% further reduction in volume, strongly depending on sediment characteristics and operational possibilities on site. We use natural agents (worms) endemic to your system to increase sediment compaction and water recuperation without using heavy machinery or chemicals.
A solution to increase the otherwise typically weak strength displayed by a soft sediment bed, enabling walking or capping.
Our methods can lead up to a factor two to five larger undrained shear strengths, for both saturated and unsaturated conditions. This may enable walking on the otherwise semi-fluid deposits, or capping with a layer of sand to enable further compaction. We use natural strengthening agents (worms and plants) endemic to your system to speed up dewatering without utilizing polluting heavy machinery or chemicals.
A solution to decrease turbidity during dredging operations or at a turbid water body.
Our methods can lead up to one order of magnitude faster settling velocities. We use natural flocculation agents (algae) endemic to your system to increase settling fluxes without utilizing polluting chemicals.
A solution to re-valorize your fine sediment.
Our methods can help you transform your costly to be managed fine sediment surplus into a valuable resource (e.g. agricultural soil or filling material for civil engineering infrastructure) via the development of a soil structure and the associated colonization of microorganisms. We use natural soil making agents (worms and plants) endemic to your system to trigger the development of a soil structure.
A solution to create biologically active land without excessive waiting times.
Our methods can help you creating biologically land from dredged sediment or mine tailings without the typical associated excessive waiting times. We use natural agents (worms and plants) endemic to your system to speed up the transition into ecologically valuable land.
